Big Island Lava Boat Tours
No visit to the Big Island is complete without heading out to see molten lava. There are many ways to see the flows but a Lava Boat tour is a real treat.
Cafe Ono is located on the grounds of the historic Hopper Estate in Volcano Village. Cafe Ono specializes in vegetarian and vegan food using local organic ingredients prepared fresh every day. The menu is simple yet rich in variety and flavors. Each entree comes with a garden salad and the homemade soup of the day. Some favorites off the menu are the baked lasagna and the artichoke hummus panini sandwich. There is also a lovely selection of desserts to complete your lunch or take with you for later. On busy days there is a chance they will run out of popular items or ingredients on the menu, but feel free to call ahead and check availability.
This also makes for a great opportunity to be adventurous and try something new. You have your choice of indoor or outdoor seating, if you dine outside you can enjoy the beautiful garden and sculptures that cover the property. Before you leave, make sure to visit the Volcano Garden Arts Gallery next door and enjoy works from local and international artists.
